StackTeck Remains Open and Committed to Serve the Medical and Food Packaging Industries
Brampton, Ontario, Canada: Following an announcement by the Government of Ontario on March 23rd, StackTeck has reviewed the official list of essential businesses, and after discussion with a government official it was determined that StackTeck is an essential business, will remain open, and will continue to support customers for the foreseeable future. Some of the largest medical and packaging companies in the global industry sent unsolicited letters naming StackTeck as “essential”, and deemed “necessary”, while requesting reassurance that the business would continue operations to support medical and food packaging production.
Following the example set by our customers, we are likewise sending letters to our essential suppliers.
In order to provide a safe work environment for its employees, StackTeck has adopted social distancing measures while increasing cleaning activities throughout the facility, as well as managing a shift of 50% of engineering and sales team members to work from home. We are following the Government of Canada and Ontario Ministry of Health guidelines, while communicating regular reminders to stay safe, wash hands, and maintain distance. The safety of StackTeck team members remains the paramount consideration at all times.
Other things we are doing to help support our community on the front lines:
- Donations of N95 masks from our inventory to our local police force.
- Advanced delivery of projects for molding components used in COVID-19 testing kits with highest possible priority.
According to Vince Travaglini, President & CEO, “When you ask everybody to change how they do their job, it’s a significant challenge to keep our large moldmaking facility humming, while addressing the daily issues that naturally come up. It’s been a lot of hard work for our people, and I’m proud of how everyone has reacted and changed how we work in a short time. As a team, we have shown unrelenting support to our customers, despite ongoing and ever increasing stresses brought on by events in the daily news.”
The StackTeck team remains active fulfilling new projects and stands ready to support unforeseen customer requirements. We wish all our customers and partners well, as the industry adapts and continues to serve consumers’ needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
